Mezzo soprano Ines Zikou, was born in Athens. She began her studies at Athens' Conservatory with the famous Greek mezzo soprano, Kiki Morfoniou and melodrama with the famous baritone, Kostas Paskalis. She has also a degree in Spanish History of Art, from the University of Santander and fluently spreaks 4 languages.
In 2000, her studies were ended and was pronounced the best student of the year. She won the "Alexandra Trianti" scholarship, one of the most demanding ones in Greece. Teresa Berganza immediately admitted her in her class at the Royal Academy of Music "Reina Sofia" in Madrid.wherfrom she had her Maters in Opera and Lied. In 2008, she wins the "Maria Callas" scholarship, in order to continue till this day, her studies with the famous Greek mezzo soprano Daphne Evangelatos, in Munich.
She has sang at Herodus Atticus Odeon, Epidaurus, Megaron of Music, GNO, opera houses of Oslo, Graz, Studdgart, Madrid, Hannover, Marseille, etc, and has collaborated with many important orchestras and famous conductors, like M. Plasson. P. Jordan, M.Fourniller, C.M. Giulini, L. Berio, R.Marba, etc.
Her repertoire includes the most important mezzo soprano roles, but also also French, Spanish, German and Greek lieder.
